Another way that we can help to prolong the life of our earth is by not littering. Littering is SO unnecessary, because there are proper trash receptacles all around us in which we can deposit trash.

Yet, people continue to throw their trash out the windows of their car, into the rivers, into the oceans, and all over the place. This garbage might seem harmless at first - after all, how much damage is a Styrofoam cup, really? And seriously, how much damage can one beer can do to the environment?

Well, ONE is not the problem… the problem is that, when thousands of people throw out ONE piece of trash, TONS of it end up on our planet’s surface. This trash smothers plants, kills fish, destroys the habitats of many animals, and takes forever to corrode away. And besides… if you destroy the habitat of an animal, that animal dies off, which eliminates a food source for another kind of animal, which causes that animal to die off, and so on. This is one of the reasons as to why many species of animals are dying off… because mankind destroys their habitat, and they cease to live and thrive.

If everyone would stop throwing trash out of their windows and onto the ground, our planet would have a much better chance for long-term survival. Recycling is the best thing that we can do, but just throwing trash into a trash can will help to make a big difference.

This way, it can be disposed of in a way that is green, earth-friendly, and safe for everyone. Come on, who wants to eat fish that are full of toxins? And who wants to wade through garbage when they go swimming at the river? You might not think that it is that bad yet, but it is getting there.
